I am in charge of breast cancer surgery at the National Cancer Center Hospital. We perform extended surgery and minimally invasive surgery for locally advanced cancer, in addition to standard surgical procedures.
The Department of Breast Surgery at the National Cancer Center Hospital performs more than 700 surgeries per year. This is one of the highest numbers in Japan.
In clinical research, I am the principal investigator of a phase III trial for HER2 breast cancer and a member of NRG Oncology, Japan Clinical Oncology Group (JCOG).
