Dr. Sekiguchi graduated with his MD from the University of Tokyo in 2006 and obtained PhD in 2017.
He has belonged to the National Cancer Center Hospital, Tokyo, since 2011. He is currently work aa a staff doctor at Cancer Screening Center and Endoscopy Division, and actively doing clinical practice and research.
He has experience of working abroad for one year in 2021. He was engaged in clinical practice and research at Danderyd Hospital, Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden.
He has conducted several collaborative studies with researchers in Asia. He is a member of the Asia-Pacific group which has established Asia-Pacific consensus recommendations on colorectal cancer screening and postpolypectomy surveillance(Gut 2022; 71: 2152-66).
Currently, he and the ATLA group are planning a new clinical trial about computer-aided detection systems for colonoscopy in colorectal cancer screening in Asia. They aim at creating evidence which will contribute to the improvement in quality of colorectal cancer screening and colonoscopy in Asia.
