Dr. Jose Jasper Andal’s story
Dr. Jose Jasper L. Andal is a pathologist with special interests in molecular pathology and bone & soft tissue pathology. He completed post-residency training in orthopedic pathology at the Philippine Orthopedic Center and research fellowship in molecular pathology at Columbia University Medical Center, the latter helped him establish the Advanced Molecular Diagnostics Section of the St.Luke’s Medical Center Institute of Pathology.
At St. Luke’s Medical Center, Dr. Andal integrates molecular diagnostics with traditional pathology to enhance cancer diagnosis and implements quality assurance protocols in genomic testing. His initiatives help translates advancements in molecular pathology to clinically relevant testing for Filipino cancer patients on molecular biomarkers.
As a faculty member at St. Luke’s College of Medicine, he educates future medical professionals in the field of pathology. He also advocates for multidisciplinary approach to cancer management, and collaboration between pathologists and clinicians.
