Department of Gynecology has treated many patients with cervical, uterine, and ovarian cancers. We also have extensive experience in the treatment of vulvar cancer and uterine sarcoma, which are rare cancers.
We regularly hold meetings with Department of Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Diagnostic Radiology, and Diagnostic Pathology to treat gynecological tumors in cooperation with them. Our department is mainly in charge of surgical treatment. In surgeries that involve the removal of organs other than gynecological organs, we work closely with the surgical departments to safely perform surgeries for advanced or recurrent cancers. We also actively treat hereditary tumors in cooperation with the Department of Genetic Medicine. We have extensive experience in prophylactic ovarian and fallopian tube ablation for patients with hereditary breast and ovarian cancer syndrome (HBOC).
Gynecologic oncology surgical results in 2022 are as follows. 36 cervical cancers, 84 uterine cancers, 67 ovarian, fallopian tubal, and peritoneal cancers, 9 vulvar cancers, 24 radical hysterectomies, 29 laparoscopic surgeries, and 24 robot-assisted surgeries.
